Hey Guys,

There is a new protection on the U.S. version of SSBB which won't allow you to even play the original disc if you have a wiikey installed and certain chip sets. Oh Yeah Rawdump will not work as well. It just gives a faulty driver error.

Kind oF sucks. I was lookin forward to this game. Well I had to know it was coming and I am sure it will happen again when mario KArt comes out.

ANy suggestions?

well there are many anwsers to your question but will give you 4

one would be remove your wii key for the time bieng

the other would be add a on and off stwich for the modchip

another would be to try out the flasher that corrupts your wiikey and lets you play legit games only and work 100% with all legit games and then you reflash your modchip later

or just wait for a wiikey patch or dump of brawl



also mariokart wii isnt a dual layer from what my sourcces tell me but i could very well be wrong

Got my copy of smash and doesn't work like all others with wiikey.
So sitting most of day reading here and others places I remembered wiikey has a recovery disc, So let the games begin.

I personally tested twice and it works.

1. Perform a firmware update (doesn't matter which one).
2. Know the scary part, pull the power plug during update.
3. Plug Wii back in and restart.
4. Play SSBB.
5. Run recovery disc 1.9b to enable WiiKey again.

Like i said I performed this twice.
First time pulled plug at 50% and got random disc ejects.
Second time pulled plug at 75% and seems O.K.

Anyone in the U.S. can play a back up of SSBB and it does not matter what chip you have. You can download onto a dual 9 DVD the entire SSBB the only headache? It is in Japanese and you will also be treated to the weather and news channels from Japan as well.

SO if you are in desperate need to play SSBB and PLay it now download it and have some fun

the downloaded english version works better than the jap version loads faster and no disk read errors

you can burn it to a dual layer yes make sure you have layer break on if you are using img burn its already on so no worries about that also i heard that usisng wii scrub will make it a dvd5 but dont take my word for that

the game is really crampped with data.

so that means i won't have to get a switch or any of this shit.

no there is a way wiiscrub makes it a dvd5 i think you take out some videos too

that's just a rip then..
wiiscrub just compresses the archive in a smaller size to download, but doesn't remove any thing really., ya sure there was this thing with wiisports that they made into 300 megs, but that's it.

anyway, my ntsc/uc wii with wiikey 1.9g, fw 3.2u will get the game workin', right.
still can't get a difinite answer form other forums.

I plan on burrning it to a Dual layer dvd so I am not to worried

yes you can but all the programs i have seen so far are really really slow its faster to download the game

Hello guys, a long time just like to say a couple things


-NINTENDO DID NOT IMPLEMENT A "BLOCK" OF THE WIIKEY FOR NEW GAMES!
The wiikey goes through problems trying to read original DUAL-LAYER discs, thats all... (If you think about it a downloaded game is the EXACT SAME as its original) For why it works for burned copies? I am not sure exactly but hey, mine is working great.

-USE IMG BURN/NERO they will take care of the layer break by itself.

-PLAYING YOUR ORIGINAL? Implement a switch, corrupt your wiikey(temporarily), take it out... the one which i recommend is wait for the team to come out with a new update to fix this problem... what I can conclude is even if this things happen in the future for other titles that are using DL backups will always work.

Hey guys the mininova link you guys posted earlier was that the ntsc or the pal version I need the ntsc version and I downloaded it burnt it and now I am waiting to push the accept utton. I am assuming the update wont hurt me though right

My problem was that i was using a regionfreed iso, and the game was just randomly working, but after updating my wiikey and using the pal version instead, it worked perfectly..
