Here is a complete guide that i use to assist u in flashing an xbox 360. I would have written the whole process out for each drive but as this guide is the most perfect guide on the planet, i felt that there should be no need too. It may be worth mentioning that it may be worth your while to grab yourself a VIA 6421 Sata Card (eBay is ur best bet, they go for around £10). These cards are fully compatible for ALL Xbox 360's and give u the least amount of trouble when it comes to detecting your 360/PC.

The guide includes how to flash all Hitatchi drives and both the Samsung MS25 & MS28 drives.

The process is so incredibly simple that i doubt anyone should have any problems what so ever, but in the event that u are stuck and are not sure what something means make a post and i'll assist u on the part that has baffled you.

I have followed this guide and have done countless Xbox 360's to the point that i find them alot easier than flashing a PSP (which alot of u know is incredibly simple to do).

In the guide it states that BenQ drives are not able to be flashed, which is now untrue. I will be shortly doing a written guide on how to flash a BenQ drive (the drives are normally found in refurbished 360's sent back to u from Microsoft if u had the 3 Red Rings, or in Elite 360's).

Hopefully, we can get a few xboxs flashed and get alot of people online for some action over LIVE (provided u didnt get urself banned by not updating to iXtreme FW, lol.)

Enjoy the guide and dont be afraid to ask if u need any help :icon_tup:

A VIA 6421 SATA card is by far the best SATA Card to buy for flashing 360's. You can grab them off eBay for about a tenner (£10).

Word of warning though, it may seem incredibly easy to flash a 360 (and pretty much is, following the instructions carefully). But you get it wrong and wave goodbye to your 360. So it's defo worth taking alot of care and effort when first learning how to mod them.

Alright, the only I thing I don't get is; do the comp and 360 have to be next to each other?

yea, place them together so they are touching each other, that way you wont short the 360 due to a power voltage, and it saves u having to get croc clips or a connectivity kit. Works everytime for me when i put the 360 next to the pc.

Hi Chupa!
First, sorry..as you can see i'm a supern00bie :) shame on me!!!! (but i'll learn fast, that's a promise!)

Now, i've checked my console and i see a yellow wire when i dettach the front cover, so it means i have a LiteON DVD Drive and a Jasper Mobo, cause my console is quite new...should i know much more?

Thanks

that's pretty much all you need to know actually.... you will need to know the correct lite-on drive u have but for that u have to open the mofo up =D....

don't worry man we all have been newbies bfore.... I'm no specialist but I can help u with my little bit of knowledge so here we go....

flashing a 360 works like this: You ope the motherfuc*** up =P, get to the DVD drive hook up to the PC and xtract it's key!

the key is what determines if the drive is gonna read a DVD or not...

so we xtract th original, alter it in a way that will read any crap you put on it and mount back in the console.... that way it will ercognize any home made backup copy as a good media and i will read it =D

after lite-ons it got a liiittle bit harder to get to this key but still possible... you need to choose witch way you will get to it... you will need to buy some piece of hardware ( no biggy) to fool the drive to let you rip it's guts out =P JK...

so first you wanna taka a look at this thread from sladey: HERE (http://www.gamerfreakz.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6465&highlight=lite-on)

then go to the oficial website from the guys that ake this little piece o hardware:

either HERE (http://team-xecuter.com/)

or HERE (http://www.jungleflasher.net/index.html)

or HERE (http://www.360xtractorpro.com)

they have a bunch of extra shit now a days for you to do the jtag to put homebrews, mulators and all that other stuff.... I myself don't want to get involved in that, if you do go ahead =D but that's out of my jurisdiction uahuah...

hope I helped...
